Job Title: Junior Interior Designer / Drafter (Contract)
Location: Remote (GVRD-based) with occasional in-person meetings/site visits
Start Date: Immediate start preferred
Contract Type: Hourly, Contract position with potential for extension
Compensation: $25–$40/hour (negotiable based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer / Drafter to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for recent graduates or students seeking hands-on experience in residential design and drafting. You will be working on single-family residential projects and smaller-scale interior design assignments, contributing to design development, technical drawings, and visual presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed CAD drawings for residential and interior design projects
- Assist with design development, space planning, and material selection
- Produce 3D renders and visual presentations
- Support project documentation in compliance with the British Columbia Building Code
- Collaborate with the team to meet the agreed project timelines
- Attend occasional in-person meetings or site visits (weekly, as required)
Qualifications
- Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Familiarity with Revit and other design software is an asset but not essential
- Basic understanding of the British Columbia Building Code
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or valid work visa)
- Must be physically located in Canada at the time of application
