The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team.

This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of mechanical construction projects, while also supporting our service division with quoting and pricing. The position offers a mix of larger tender work and smaller, fast-paced service-related estimating.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, is detail-oriented, and is motivated to continuously improve both their own performance and the estimating process as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

·        Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents

·        Perform quantity takeoffs for labour, materials, and equipment

·        Assemble complete tender submissions, including supplier and subcontractor pricing

·        Review project documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities

·        Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project reviews as required

·        Support the service department with quoting for smaller and time-sensitive projects

·        Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

·        Assist with project turnover to operations teams upon award

Qualifications & Experience

·        5–10 years of experience in mechanical estimating or a strong mechanical trade background

·        Solid understanding of HVAC and/or plumbing systems

·        Experience in institutional, healthcare, or commercial projects is preferred

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required

·        Experience with Autobid Mechanical is considered an asset

·        Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Compensation

·        Competitive salary in the range of $90,000 – $120,000, based on experience

·        Annual performance bonus

·        Two (2) weeks paid vacation
