About the Role
Morgan’s House is our first home. A two-bed therapeutic service opening in Deri for young people aged 10 to 18 with diverse needs, including trauma, autism, and other neurodevelopmental differences.
We are building our founding team and have multiple Residential Support Worker positions available. This is a genuine opportunity to shape the culture, routines, and feel of the home from the very beginning alongside an experienced Registered Manager and Responsible Individual.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be one of the steady, trusted adults in a young person’s life. Some days you will be doing the school run and cooking tea. Other days you will be sitting with a young person through a tough moment or celebrating a small win that feels huge to them. No two days are the same, but every day matters.
Shift Pattern
2 days on, 4 days off rolling rota, published in advance
- Day 1 — Arrive at 10am, work until 10pm, sleep-in overnight
- Day 2 — Work through the day until 10pm, sleep-in overnight
- Day 3 — Up at 7am, morning routine and handover, finish at 10am
- Then 4 days off
This is a rolling rota, so you will need to work some weekends and bank holidays.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting young people with daily routines, fostering independence and confidence
- Providing emotional support using the PACE therapeutic approach
- Helping to deliver individualised care plans tailored to each young person
- Driving young people to school, appointments, family contact, and activities in the house vehicle
- Maintaining accurate records using our digital care planning system
- Communicating with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals
- Following safeguarding, health, and safety policies to promote a safe home
- Being a calm, consistent presence when emotions run high
- Contributing to team meetings and reflective practice sessions
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in young people and a commitment to making a positive difference
- Experience working with children or young people is preferred but not essential if you bring the right values
- A sound understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development
- Safeguarding Level 3 training. Ideally already held, we will fund this if not
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
- Emotional resilience and a good sense of humour
- Aged 22 and over

- £13 to £15 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
- £60 per sleep-in
- Overtime available (Time Off In Lieu). Pick up extra shifts and bank additional days off to use when it suits you
