The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society is seeking to appoint a Quality and Records Officer within Chester Medical School.
As a member of the Professional Services team, you will provide effective administrative assistance across quality assurance, student records, assessment and timetabling activity. Working closely with the Quality and Records Coordinator, Quality Manager, Academic colleagues and Professional Services colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring that assessment and quality processes are delivered accurately, consistently and in line with regulatory requirements.
You will assist with the administration of assessment processes, including the Progress Board and Boards of Examiners, and assist with the delivery of assessments in both in‑person and online formats. The role also involves maintaining accurate student and assessment records, contributing to quality enhancement activities, supporting programme administration and timetabling processes, and answering a wide range of staff and student queries.
You will work with colleagues across the Faculty, Registry Services, Academic Services, Student Services and external partners, including Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs), helping to ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance and governance requirements. You will also contribute to the development and improvement of processes, systems and ways of working to support an excellent student experience.
We are looking for someone who is educated to A‑level standard (or equivalent), who has substantial experience in an administrative role, ideally within higher education or a similar large, complex organisation. You will have excellent organisational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A high level of ICT proficiency is essential, along with with the ability to work proactively, manage competing priorities, and handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. An in-depth knowledge of quality assurance and assessment processes is desirable.
We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Sam Hobbs, Quality Manager (s.hobbs@chester.ac.uk).
